The workshop 'Volo Paesaggio / Paesaggio al volo'', the first event of the new project 'DALLA VETRINA ALLA CITTÀ', which expands the association's activities by bringing contemporary art beyond the gallery's window of Palazzo Galeano and the space of Platea Project, concluded with a small party at the showcase of Platea | Palazzo Galeano..
The kites gathered in flight in front of the facade of Palazzo Galeano, in a display of the identity between the 'natural' and urban landscape.
The kites created by the sixty children, guided by the artist Arianna Pace, the designer and leader of the workshop, are the result of the experience of observation and conscious immersion in the landscape to which the young people of Lodi belong.
The children, aged 6 to 11, who attend the summer camp at the oratory of Santa Maria della Clemenza and San Bernardo, thus practiced training their gaze to personally and creatively rework the results of their experience of the world, a daily, profound, and playful activity.
The same creative freedom was applied the previous Friday in interpreting the works in the showcase. The curator invited the children to share their creative experience during the workshop and then to express their thoughts on the content of the ongoing exhibition.
During the snack time, the children observed the individual objects displayed behind the glass and each expressed their own theory about how they were connected to one another, aware that there might be an answer more or less close to the artist's idea but that every interpretation would have the same value as the latter; because art is above all an experience of sharing.
The memory of the entire experience shared together will be recounted through a small artist's book created by Arianna Pace. Along with the distribution of the book, a collective viewing of the video made during the various phases of the workshop, curated by Matteo Cavalieri, will be organized.
"The team of Platea | Palazzo Galeano, Arianna Pace, and Bianca Basile wish to thank everyone who participated, contributed, and supported 'Volo paesaggio / Paesaggio al volo'.
A special thanks goes to the young participants and the team of the summer camp at the oratory of Santa Maria della Clemenza and San Bernardo, the Fondazione Comunitaria della Provincia di Lodi Onlus, and the donors who shared in the activity and its goals. Thanks also to IBSA Italy for supporting the entire initiative.
We look forward to seeing you all at the next glance.
